Development Within the City of Taylor
Many projects have been taking root within the City of Taylor and our Economic Development team would like to share the exciting inside information of these developments. Our mission is to improve the city as a whole by inviting in new specialty owners while bolstering existing businesses. This is a plan which leads to more jobs, an improved fiscal economy, and a path into greater opportunity.
BJ's Restaurant and Brewhouseis known for their award winning brews and innovative recipes. With 160 prized beers, BJ's will be the first of its kind in Taylor, Michigan.
Hearn Industrial Services, an industry headquartered in Ontario, Canada, has made their next expansion at the City of Taylor. The new company supplies windshields to the big three and has added 60 additional jobs to the community.
CARite CARwashdeveloped by Detroit II Automobiles Inc. will be a new innovative style car washing system located on Telegraph road. Credit of the futuristic architecture goes to Tommy Car Wash Systems. The project is estimated to be complete by December 2017.
Menardswill soon inhabit the old Gibralter Trade Center location also on Eureka road. This project will cover over 300,000 square feet of store space. On top of all that, new stores and cafes will be included in the development area.
DriveTime,a multi-million dollar company, now has their next dealership here in Taylor. The previously known Taylor Ford site, East side of Telegraph road and North of Goddard, now home to this new development.
La-Z-Boyhas been one of Taylor's new developments on Eureka road. The new site will feature two retails stores, two restaurants, and of course your favorite place to buy comfortable, upscale furniture.
Wahlburgersis proudly announced as another development to be included within Taylor's Eureka corridor. Celebrity, Mark Wahlburg, will be joining the Downriver community. It will be the second Walburger restaurant located in the State of Michigan.
MI Measurement Incorporated, a company that specializes in Assessment Services is now located in the Taylor Commons Shopping Center on Ecorse Road. They will be adding 300 + jobs to the Taylor community.

The Oakwood Groupexpansion. This technology driven industry focuses on energy absorbent material. They cater to the NFL, the U.S. Military, and to lacrosse companies making protective helmets.
First one to arrive to Michigan, Primanti Brothers opened it's doors in the City of Taylor. The sports-themed sandwich shop is located in the Southland Mall on Eureka road.
Cinemark, is Taylor's new premium movie theater equipped with reclining chairs, high quality movie screens, and all sorts of snacks. It is first of its kind to entertain nearby Southland Mall shoppers.
Bubba's 33, is a new sports themed restaurant known for house ground burgers and home-made buns. It is newly attached to the Southland Mall and can sear over three hundred hungry customers.
